EXALT Group of Companies traces its origins way back to the 1940's when a freedom fighter Lalbhai Patel commenced Nagri Mining Company which was then considered the 2nd largest Manganese mining company in India.

Whilst he acquired these leases in the 40's he could not spare time for this business given his pre occupation with the independence movement. He was the Chairman of the shadow committee. Primarily meant that he operated under cover of an industrialist. But actually ran a covert operation of taking care of the freedom fighters families when they were jailed or hurt. Every freedom fighter knew and revered him, but his front reflected a prosperous businessman.

Upon freedom he begun focusing on his mines which were in the malaria infested jungles around Dandeli. Every freedom fighter was assured a job. Many luminaries have worked, associated or even led these operations. Umashankar Dixit (Governor of UP, Sheila Dixit's father in law) was the first Director / Manager of Nagri Mining Company, Kanhaiyalal Munshi (founder of Bharti Vidyabhuvan, a strategic associate) Kameshwar Rao, Chimanbhai, Sukhbir Singh, Rudrapratap Singh, and many such 5000 + freedom fighters from all over India lived in these jungles and worked the Lalbhai Manganese mines.

For several decades Danddeli Ferro Private Limited (Danddeli) was recognised as India's premier producer of Extra Low Carbon Ferro Manganese & Extra Low Carbon Silico Manganese.

The last decade saw the cessation of mining activities as the entire region was declared a Wildlife Game sanctuary, as this was now the only remnant area that was blessed with old , ancient trees. The Governments have successfully transacted the rest of the forests, since independence. The Ferro Alloy manufacturing facilities, and the liquid fuel power plants are available for relocation.
The team is currently engaged with leveraging 60 years of Ferro Alloy manufacturing experience by offering technology transfers.
The future visualises activities in education, hospitality, healthcare, recycling of wastes, renewable energy.
